Singapore 2010
ok got to stop ms swan youtube video and move on before they my friends start to imitate her n irritate mi
before i start a new topic juz to let you all noe tt i DUN work for STB(Singapore Tourism Board) or any Tour agency
juz wanne let my friends and families noe and update them on the upcoming developments in singapore. Especially those whu are studying abroad or working in other country so that when they cum back to spore they dun feel FOREIGN in their hometown
back to reality closer to home
there's too many exciting development cuming up singapore. By 2010, at marina bay you will get to see a new marina bay filled wit buzz and excitement.
First off we hav the Marina Bay Sands which is an integrated resort which is being developed by Las Vegas Sands. Design--> Mixed Reviews from singaporeans. To mi it looks kinda like 3 tombstones linking together(hotel) 3 tombs looking structures(convention center, shopping mall, casino, theatre) a large looking lotus beside.
Beside the integrated resort we have the funky looking and world first Double-Helix Bridge that link frm the integrated resort to sumwhere near marina square. Really cool
Juz around the corner we have the The Singapore Flyer(bet its gonna b another White Elephant)which is touted to b the largest wheel in the worlds (sum country sooner or later gonna beat the record)
Beside Esplanade they are building a small temporary floating stadium beside the esplanade so that they can held some events like national day parade 2007. Dun really noe y we need a very SMALL temporary stadium beside the esplanade. They can build it any part of singapore(like Marina South). Juz bcoz it overlook the skyscrapers of singapore and it will look GRAND to held it there.
Across the Marina Bay, located in Marina Boulevard we have a new residential apartment The Sail @ Marina Bay which is Singapore's tallest condominium/apartment and it is among the top 10 tallest residential building in the world.(no big deal). It look pretty nice on their rendering but dun really noe how it will turn out to b
Beside the The Sail @ Marina Bay, we have the new Marina Bay Financial Centre(at least sum good use for that plot of reclaimed land which hav been vacant for years). If im nt wrong there will b 2 office blocks and an apartment/condo. design wise looks bland but acceptable for everyone's eyes. In front of The Sail n MBFC is the Central Promontory(no idea wats tt n updates on tt, hopefully its iconic)
Next up behind the IR we have the Garden By the Bay. Tis development have been long overdue. Spore is called Garden City for nothing if we dun hav a Garden in the city. Winners hav been awared to both Grant Associates n Gustafson Porter. Really nice designs by both but i prefer grant's design
Next we hav the DAM in marina South, Marina Barrage coverting the Marina Bay and Kallang Basin into a new downtown freshwater reservoir(gonna b polluted sum day)
Theres tis new Stadium and plans have been made to demolish the stadium and build a multi-purpose, 35.6ha Sports Hub in its place. Construction has begun and is expected to be complete in mid 2010(although its a pity tt they intend to demolish the old national stadium which brings back memories).
Most exciting development hav to b the 2nd Intergrated Resort for Spore in Sentosa. The race is Heating up wit contenders frm Genting/Star Cruise/Universal Studio, Kernzner/Capitaland and Eight Wonders/PBL/Melcom Limited. More Details n Renderings cuming up
Closer to where i stay (east side) we hav a new shopping mall in Tampines Central, which i think its not necessary since we hav TM n CS. Tis will only make fastfood to open MORE outlets in Tampines alone. Then we hav a new hypermall in tampines which consist of GIANT, IKEA n COURTS. Dun hav to go all the way to alexendra to buy stuff frm IKEA.
New Changi International Airport Terminal 3 together wit a new 9-storey airport hotel, the Crowne Plaza Hotel(design concept very safe n boxy). Sumwhere near there(no idea where) theres gonna b Spaceport Singapore where rich sporean can pay thousands of $$ to go up space to hav a feeling of
Last but nt least we hav a new 24-hour leisure and entertainment mall called e!Hub. Located at Downtown East, Pasir Ris. they will b 25-meter tall ferris wheel mounted on the inside of the building(Spore really love building wheels), NTUC Fairprice supermarket, Cathay Cineplex with 6 halls and a total seating capacity of 1,000, 32-lane bowling alley and a host of trendy and chic retail and F & B outlets.
These are rumours but dun noe if its true
1. F1 racing Tracks in Tuas (Cool)
2. More Integrated Resorts (pls stop @ 2)
3. Disneyland in Marina East (Universal Studio is good enough no need Disney. We dun want Singapore to be describe as a wonderland for kids)
With all these Developements in Singapore, hopefully it will give a bigger impression of singapore instead of juz a RED DOT wit no excitement. Hopefully tourist will stay more days in their trip here
