VIVA LA VIDA--Coldplay
Viva la Vida" is the second single released from the British alternative rock band Coldplay's 2008 album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. It was initially released along with the iTunes Store pre-order of the album in May 7, but was eligible as a download-only track on May 25. The sales from "Viva la Vida" have made it Coldplay's highest charting single ever on the Billboard Hot 100, and their second top ten hit on the chart, so far reaching #3. "Viva la Vida" is now being used in a worldwide cross-marketing campaign for Apple's iPod +iTunes while Coldplay performed the song live for the first time at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.
The song was disqualified from the UK charts, as the Official Charts Company ruled that the song served as a down payment for the album, and not in fact available in its own right. The song will be allowed to chart upon the release of the album on June 12, 2008.

Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (usually called Viva la Vida) is the fourth studio album by English alternative rock band Coldplay. It is scheduled to be released on 12 June 2008 in the UK and 17 June 2008 in North America. The project is largely produced by Brian Eno. Coldplay have released two singles from the record, "Violet Hill" and "Viva la Vida".
Viva la Vida (Spanish for Live Life) takes its name from a painting by Frida Kahlo, the acclaimed 20th century Mexican artist. The album's artwork features the painting Liberty Leading the People (La Liberté guidant le peuple) by French painter Eugène Delacroix, commemorating the July Revolution of 1830.
